Waste Services
Waste is an inevitable consequence of modern life and we all have a responsibility to reduce our waste footprint for the good of our community, our environment and future generations. To learn more about how to reduce your waste footprint, visit lawma.gov.ng for practical tips, advice and inspiration.
All customers are entitled to a refuse and a recycling bin from a waste collector. If a customer lives in an area of 500 people or more they are entitled to refuse, recycling and food waste recycling bins.
Household waste operators are required under their permit to let customers know the weight of waste collected. Information on the weight of each separate bin collection must be made available to customers at least monthly, and can be made available in writing or electronically (e.g. accessible under customers account on their website). Contact your waste operator for further details.
lawma.gov.ng advises that you get quotes from a number of collectors operating in your area so that you can compare and contrast and find the service which best suits your needs.
We operate to the highest industry standards and have signed up to the Rules of the Association, that ensure that they provide waste management services to the public and to businesses in a professional and ethical manner.
